Thanks James, for the reference. I am not an aerosol expert .. and I am a bit lost. The papers regarding size are all over the place. Some say, as in the one that you quote, that most exhaled droplets are smaller than 10 um, but others only detect large > 100 um droplets, such as this one:

I guess it depends on how one measures, and how the aerosols are generated.
